Just yesteday, I got a game on my PC that requires a ps4 controller.
Ds4windows controller not connecting upgrade#
I believe this issue came from a CPU and MOBO upgrade to my PC or an upgrade I made to my wifi/bluetooth adapter as they both happened around the same time I got this issue. PC doesnt detect ps4 controller anymore, via USB. I couldn't find any other guides online for this particular issue. I even got the notification prompt to connect the controller. Afterwards I tried setting it to pairing mode once more, and voila the controller was detected by Windows. Press Windows key + i and access Bluetooth and other devices Click on View more devices Remove all Bluetooth devices, including the PS4 controller Now try connecting the controller again Click on Add a Bluetooth device Click Bluetooth Hold the Share + PS button until the back light is flashing When the control is displayed, click on it. We also recommend trying your controller in a game rather than in the menus since not all games support/fully. Set the controller into pairing mode and connected it to my Android phone. This is usually in Settings > Controls > Gamepad. I tried removing the battery and removing a small ribbon behind the battery slot (a Youtube video suggested it), but both resulted in the same behavior as above. I tried resetting the faulty controller using the small reset button on the back of the controller several times, but it didn't change the behavior of the issue (flashing light, solid, then off)

Trying to change the driver of the controller to that of one with bluetooth working wouldn't work because Windows categorized the controller as an audio device (wired, only tried on one PC)

Removing the controller in Bluetooth & other devices or removing the driver's for the controller in Device Manager would make device reconnect using the same drivers as before Controller was categorized under Audio in Bluetooth & other Devices and not under Mouse, Keyboard & Pen like the other controllers (both PC's, wired)

Faulty Controller could make a wired connection to both computers Dual Shock Controllers configuration problem. A weak Bluetooth signal can be the cause. Charged the faulty controller with a different cable to make sure it was fully charged If the Controller has low battery power, it will not connect to the PC. Controller could enter pairing mode (Holding the Share button and PS button), but wouldn't show up in Windows's bluetooth device scan on either of my 2 PC's (built with different bluetooth/wifi combo adapters) Turning on the controller results in a flashing blue light, followed by a solid blue light lasting about 10 seconds before turning off One of my 4 DS4 controllers stopped connecting to my PC through bluetooth This is a post for anyone who might be experiencing the issue I was going through.
